Our Story

1997

Mike Dildine is accepted into one of the top Construction Management programs in the country at Brigham Young University

1997 - 2000

While completing his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mike also gained experience working for Pulte Homes in Las Vegas, Fulton Homes in Phoenix and Carter Construction in Provo. Each of these experiences afforded the opportunity to manage the construction and budgets on new custom homes.

2000

Graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Construction Management and Business Management.

2000 - 2003

Mike accepted a job in southern California working for Beverly Hills Construction Management. Here, Mike spent close to 4 years building some of the largest and most expensive custom homes in the country. Large custom homes of over 20,000sf, valued at over $15 million dollars, provided invaluable experience in budget control, homeowner management and the very highest of quality construction management.

2003

Mike Dildine moved back home to realize his lifelong dream of starting and owning his own custom homebuilding company. Highland Homes was formed and began operations.

2006

Eric Atwood, also a graduate of the Brigham Young University Construction Management program, joined the Highland Homes team. Eric brings years of experience in construction project management, systems design and architectural computer design renderings.

2007 - 2009

Weathered the great real estate recession of 2007-2009! In a time when over 80% of the local builders in the Treasure Valley went out of business and nearly 100% of builders were forced to layoff employees, Highland Homes and its team of Mike and Eric continued to run a successful business providing a sense of stability and security to each of its valued homeowners.

2010 - Today

Highland Homes is enjoying continued success as a defined luxury builder in some of the nicest areas of Boise, Eagle, Star, Middleton, and the Treasure Valley.
