This one began with a view.

When Mike first stood on this three-acre homesite in The Ranch, he wasn't thinking about walls, rooms, or square footage. He was looking at the incredible views, watching the way the light moved across the landscape, and imagining what it would feel like to live here every day.

One question kept coming back to him:

How can every important space in this home celebrate this view?

That simple idea became the foundation for everything that followed.

Instead of asking the land to adapt to the house, we designed the house around the land. Every decision, from the home's orientation and window placement to the outdoor living spaces and room layout, was made to capture the beauty of this remarkable property.

The result is more than our 2026 Boise Area Parade Home. It's the most ambitious home we've ever built and one that represents everything we believe about thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and creating homes that feel as remarkable to live in as they are to look at.

Beginning With the Land

One of the greatest advantages of building a home is that every homesite offers its own opportunities. Rather than forcing the same design onto every lot, we believe each home should respond to its surroundings.

At The Ranch, that meant studying the property long before construction began. We carefully considered where the sun rises and sets, how the foothills frame the horizon, where privacy could be preserved, and how every major living space could connect with the landscape.

From the great room and kitchen to the primary suite, recreation spaces, and outdoor living areas, virtually every important room was intentionally positioned to embrace the incredible views surrounding the home.

That philosophy shaped every decision that followed.

A Grand Arrival

We wanted the very first moment inside the home to be unforgettable.

As the front door opens, you're immediately greeted by soaring two-story glass that frames the private courtyard beyond. Natural light pours through the entry, drawing your eye through the architecture before gradually revealing the expansive outdoor spaces beyond.

It's a dramatic introduction, but it never feels overwhelming.

Clean architectural lines, warm natural materials, and carefully balanced proportions create a feeling that's both impressive and surprisingly warm and welcoming. Even at nearly 12,000 square feet, the goal was always to design a home that feels comfortable, never intimidating.

The Heart of the Home

Every home has a space where people naturally gather. Here, it's the Great Room.

Inviting 24-foot and 27-foot multi-slide glass doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing the living spaces to flow effortlessly onto the covered patios, pool terrace, and surrounding landscape. Whether entertaining dozens of guests or enjoying a quiet evening at home, the connection to the outdoors is always present.

Just beyond is the Kitchen, designed to be as functional as it is beautiful.

A pair of oversized islands anchor the room, surrounded by an exceptional suite of Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, generous workspaces, and carefully considered storage.

Every finish was selected to feel timeless rather than trendy, creating a kitchen that will remain beautiful for decades.

Just off the kitchen is one of our favorite spaces in the home, the Butler's Pantry.

More than additional storage, it functions as a true second kitchen, giving caterers and homeowners an entirely separate preparation area while allowing the main kitchen to remain the centerpiece of gatherings. It's one of those details that quietly transforms how a home lives.

A Private Retreat Designed for Wellness

Warm luxury isn't only about beautiful finishes.

It's about creating spaces that enrich the way you live every day. In this case, it's an entire private sanctuary within the home.

We designed the Primary Wing as a true private retreat, tucked away from the home's entertaining spaces and oriented to capture peaceful views across the property. The bedroom feels calm and connected to the landscape, while the spa-inspired bath offers the comfort and tranquility of a boutique luxury resort.

One of our favorite features is the Primary Retreat, a private flex space adjoining the suite that can become whatever its owners need most. Whether it's a quiet morning sitting room, a reading lounge, home office, fitness space, or simply a place to unwind with a cup of coffee, it creates an entirely separate place to relax without ever leaving the privacy of the suite.

Beyond the bath, the Wellness Retreat takes that philosophy even further. A private sauna, steam shower, cold plunge, heated floors, and dedicated recovery spaces transform everyday routines into intentional moments of restoration. Rather than treating wellness as an occasional luxury, we wanted to make it part of daily life.

Spaces Designed for Gathering

As much as this home offers privacy, it was equally designed to bring people together.

The entertainment wing includes a spacious Game Room, private Theater, and seamless access to the Outdoor Kitchen and Pool Terrace.

Friends and family can easily move from one space to another without ever feeling separated, while walls of glass continue to frame the surrounding foothills from nearly every angle.

Whether hosting a holiday celebration, watching a football game, or enjoying a quiet evening outdoors, the home was designed to make entertaining feel effortless.

Recreation Without Leaving Home

One of the most unique aspects of this home is its dedicated recreation wing.

A professional Golf Simulator provides year-round practice regardless of the weather, while a fully equipped Fitness Center supports everyday health and wellness.

Adjacent to both is a full indoor basketball and pickle ball Sports Court, creating opportunities for recreation, training, and family activities that are rarely found in a private residence.

Together, these spaces create a lifestyle centered around movement, wellness, and spending time together.

Outdoor Living on Three Extraordinary Acres

One of our favorite parts of this home isn't actually inside the home at all.

It's everything outside.

Rather than creating a single backyard patio, we designed a collection of outdoor living spaces that each offer a different experience. Covered terraces provide comfortable gathering spaces throughout the seasons, while the resort-style pool, spa, fire pit, and indoor/outdoor kitchen create natural places for family and friends to come together.

A private courtyard offers a quiet place to relax, while the putting green, expansive lawn, and neighborhood walking paths encourage spending time outdoors long after the sun goes down.

More Than a Parade Home

People often remember luxury homes because of their size.

We hope people remember this one for something different. We hope they remember how it felt.

From the moment you enter through the front door to the final sunset viewed from the covered patio, every decision was made with purpose. Every room was designed to capture light, celebrate the landscape, and create spaces that feel both beautiful and genuinely livable.

That's what we've always believed great homebuilding should be.

The Ranch is certainly one of the most extraordinary homes we've ever created, but the principles behind it are the same ones we bring to every Highland Home: thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, timeless materials, and a commitment to creating homes that enrich everyday life.
